KILIFI: Seven Kenya Defence Forces soldiers sustained injuries after a military truck they were travelling in was involved in an accident on Tuesday.
The accident happened after the truck overturned near Kijipwa Police Station along the Kilifi-Mombasa highway.
Local residents were, however, barred from helping the injured soldiers and journalists were kept at bay by uninjured soldiers who immediately disembarked from the vehicle and secured the site.
QUICK RESPONSE
Speaking to The Standard, OCPD Justin Nyaga said the soldiers were travelling from Malindi to Nyali barracks in Mombasa, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it landed in a ditch.
