Two people among them a herdsman and suspected bandits were shot dead and another critically injured in an attack in West Pokot County.
Suspected armed Pokot bandits attacked Olukuse and Moruongor villages in Koturuk Location in Loima Sub County injuring some locals.
The over 500 heavily armed bandits escaped with over 3,000 goats and sheep before abducting an elderly man during Thursday morning attack.
Loima Constituency MP Protus Akuja said the bandits struck the village at around 8 in the morning and engaged herdsmen in a fierce fire exchange before they shot dead one herder and wounded another on the head.
He said the herdsmen managed to gun down a suspected Pokot bandit during an exchange of fire between the raiders and the herdsmen.

"It's regrettable that the bandits have continuously waged a series of attacks in the region even when the military operation to flush out the attackers who killed over twenty police officers in Kapedo area is ongoing,"Akuja said.
The MP said residents reported that the raiders donned black 'shukas' when they struck.
The legislator disclosed that most the Pokot bandits have escaped Kapedo region fearing the ongoing military operation.
The MP said he informed Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo of the attack and he promised to dispatch security personnel.
