An Italian tourist died on the spot while five others sustained multiple injuries after their tour vehicle was involved in an accident at the Tsavo National Park yesterday.
Speaking from his hospital bed at Moi Hospital in Voi town, the vehicle's driver Athman Bashali said the accident occurred after he swerved to avoid hitting a baby antelope that jumped into their path, running after its mother.
"The car skidded on loose sand then rolled, instantly killing the tourist, who had been taking photos through the open roof," he said.
Police Commander Richard Bitonga said they have launched investigations.
