West Pokot; Kenya: A sombre mood engulfed Kapkecha Primary School in West Pokot County after the institution's head teacher collapsed and died under mysterious circumstances.
John Chemonges is said to have collapsed at the door of his house within the school compound as he stepped out to supervise a cleanup exercise by pupils in the institution.
A pupil who witnessed the incident alerted the watchman who quickly called teacher William Lokadany. Lokadany who rushed to the scene, said the head teacher was lying on the ground with foam coming from his mouth.
"We rushed him to Kapenguria District Hospital but unfortunately, he was confirmed dead on arrival, which left us in shock and sadness," he said. The body was transferred to Kitale District Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
