Two shot and injured as police pursue thugs

Nairobi, Kenya: Two people were Friday morning shot and injured in a shooting incident involving police and suspected thugs in a botched robbery at a forex bureau along Kimathi street, Nairobi.

Police say the gang planned to rob a forex bureau at Norwitch Towers prompting screams from the guards. It was during the confusion that one of the guards was shot and wounded.

A man who witnesses say was walking by was also shot and seriously wounded. They were both taken to hospital and witnesses claim they were shot by police who responded to the distress call.

Police say they are investigating the incident. Central OCPD Paul Wanjama visited the scene after the 8 am shooting.
