The weekend was bustling with bashes left, right and centre and STEVENS MUENDO was on the trail of each

The atmosphere was ecstatic. It was like an old school reunion party. The tune of ol’ skool’ hip-hop mix rent the air inviting the rather elated pack of girls to the dimly lit dance floor where a dancing pole stood conpisciously at the middle.

The men in the house ogled as excitement hit fever pitch when tantalising beauties, one after another, strut to the dance pole with sensual gyrating moments.

These were not the images of your reserved celebrities — as we know them. They were the party girls — wholesome bunch of party girls!

Then the birthday girl, Angela Mwandanda, the lead singer of Tattuu, was challenged to the pole.

For over half an our, Angela Ndambuki and Debbie Asila, her Tattuu counterparts heat up the dance floor, at the Taboo Club in Westlands where the birthday girl was being hosted to a party treat.

It was midnight and the party was headed to a climax when amidst animated applause, Shinde (for that is her nickname) took the challenge and headed to the pole with Usher Raymond’s So many Girls hit single raising the roof up.

And to her reprieve, the vee-jay of the night cut short her show and replaced the Usher sentimental with Tattuu’s debut song Teso that literally swept Wahu, Angela and Debbie off their feet to the floor.

Reminiscing

Damsels: Mimmo, Pierra, Tanya and Lillian pose during Pierra’s Birthday party.

And cuing them on, the vee-jay played another long timer, Wahu’s Liar, throwing the fans into ecstasy.

"Debbie and Rabbo (Angela Ndambuki) were behind the whole birthday thing. They have always been my girls since we formed Tattuu. I’m delighted that everyone came through for me," an overjoyed Shinde told Pulse.

And not even the joy of the moment capped with cake cutting and champagne toasting could make Shinde disclose her age.

"Can’t a girl keep some little secret," she joked.

Also, joining in to share her birthday joy was the Music Copyright Society of Kenya Chief Executive Officer Maurice Okoth, Bernard Kioko of Bersost and celebrated actor OJ (Ainea Ojiambo).

It was a girls’ treat weekend and more cakes and champagne toasting were on cards as the party moved to Mercury, Westlands, the following night. Pierra Makena, an actress and One FM presenter, was hosting a "white" birthday bash. She was turning 30, and proudly so.

The star-studded evening ceremony was yet another celebrity get together affair for old school media friends and other players in the showbiz industry (including the whole Changes and One FM crew), among them the ever gorgeous Tanya (Sarah Hassan), Patricia Kihoro, Mimmo, Ferdinand Omondi, Frasha, Collo, Kenzo, DJ Stylez and Julie Gichuru.

The weekend had started on a sound note with numerous events lined-up. In fact, wherever I went, I felt like I was being stalked by a lot of celebrities as we crushed at events, one after the other.

Down at the serene Windsor Country Club that Friday evening, the Pulse crew had been on the golf course and soon joined the cocktail party hosted by Toyota Kenya.

It was a spectacular ceremony. We hobnobbed with top cream golfers over a sumptuous dinner treat complete with entertainment by Carol Atemi and the Mathree Band. Charles Gacheru of IMG was a class act hosting the winners at the marquee tent.

Launch

And the evening was soon to transcend to a perfect weekend opener as we rolled down to Club Galileos, Westlands, where the cream of the showbiz industry was being hosted to the Kenya We Pray video launch, thanks to Bernard Kioko of mobile service provider Bersost.

Shaffie Weru led the party at the VIP launch with Joey Muthengi and Frasha on his side. Jaguar, Kenzo, Avril and Roberta led the Ogopa troupe to a spectacular entry. There was Angela Ndambuki hanging out with the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights Commissioner Hassan Omar.

And the partying continued!
