An Egyptian foreign investor in sports development, Wadi Degla Club has unveiled an ambitious project aimed at growing sports and wellness in the country.
Speaking to the press yesterday, Joseph Reda, Wadi Degla Investment Managing Director said the club has partnered with the famous Arsenal football Academy to grow sports in the country.
In the partnership, Arsenal Football Academy, shall assist in training upcoming footballers and coaches for members of the Wadi Degla Sports Club situated in Nairobi’s Runda area.
Construction of the 10-acre Sh2 billion worth club is 70 per cent complete with over 150 members already registered.
“This is a new concept which will nurture young talent in various sports besides promoting wellness among communities involved,” said Reda, adding that interested members can pay a one-off fee of Sh923,000 with option of adding family members at a cost of about Sh100,000.

“Wadi Degla was the first to introduce the branded sporting academies concept where it allows the young members to become champions in various sports,” said Reda. Other sports in the club menu include swimming, tennis, squash and athletics. — Jonah Onyango
