A 38-year-old man committed suicide at Free Area estate in Nakuru saying he was not able to clear debts.
Peter Waweru hanged himself in his parents’ house. Confirming the incident, Free Area chief Stephen Macharia said Mr Waweru travelled from his home in Mzee Wanyama and killed himself in his parents’ house on Saturday.
“The body was discovered by neighbours,” said Macharia.
Before killing himself, Waweru is said to have complained of financial constraints saying a friend he owed money had directed him to pay up failure to which they would take action against him.
Earlier he had tried to commit suicide thrice, and wrote suicide notes claiming he was facing financial problems.

His kin are said to have counselled the father of two severally warning him against committing suicide.
“Waweru had tried to kill himself severally, and we suspect when he left his home he carried a rope in his bag that he used to hang himself,” said Macharia.
