NAIVASHA, KENYA: A Naivasha court has ordered that police imposter Joshua Waiganjo Karianjau records a statement at Naivasha police station over alleged harassment by a prison warder.
Acting Naivasha Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu issued the order after Waiganjo expressed his concern over his life in prison.
The magistrate noted that though Waiganjo was a prisoner he had the rights to be treated like a human being.
The magistrate ordered prison warders to escort the inmate to the nearby police station where he could raise his complaints.

This emerged during a mention of a case in which Waiganjo is charged with impersonation.
Waiganjo who is serving two years at Naivasha G.K prison told the court that the senior officer in the prison was harassing him.
He revisited an incident on the 12th of January where the officer handcuffed him while on hospital bed at the Naivasha district hospital.
“The officer handcuffed me on the right hand which was under drip and ignored orders from the doctors to change the handcuffs to the left hand,” he told the court.
He told the magistrate that the warder identified as an inspector had continued to intimidate him in prison.
Later speaking to the press in the court’s holding cells, Waiganjo said that he had written to the Commissioner of Prisons over the harassment.
He told the commissioner of his worry noting that his life was in danger and that he feared for his life.
In the letter, Waiganjo alleged that he had given a senior officer in the prison Sh66,200 to assist in the publication of his book but in vain.
“For the above reasons am requesting your office to urgently look into these issues and enhance my security as I fear for my life,” reads the letter in part.
Last week rumors hit the social media that Waiganjo had passed away while serving his sentence in the prison.
