The battle for showbiz supremacy may just have started to take a new shape as sprouting stars are finally overshadowing the old guards, if this year’s Chaguo La Teeniez Awards nominations are anything to go by.

Amani, who was recently crowned the MTV Best Female Artiste of the Year has missed out on this year’s Chaguo La Teeniez (CHAT) nominations whose list was officially released on Tuesday.

Amani dropped out of the list of Teeniez top four female artistes as her Ogopa deejays stable mate Avril made her entry in the list of Female Artiste of the year, which also features Wahu, Habida and STL. The Tonight singer scooped three awards in the event including the coveted Female artiste of the Year accolade, four years ago.

And conspicuously missing in the list is local showbiz heavy Jua Cali who also dominated previous nominations winning the Best Male and Celebrity of the Year categories in 2007. Nameless has only managed a place in the Best Video category thanks to Sunshine, which features Habida. Nonini, Redsan, Juliani and Mejja will be the stars to watch for the Best Male Artiste spot
