Is outspoken Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa eyeing the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat?
The MP, who served as the last mayor of Nairobi before the city transited to the devolved system has enrolled for higher education in what many suspects is linked to his political ambitions.
The MP is currently undertaking a diploma at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, Nairobi campus and a degree at Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) concurrently.
The law requires that for one to be qualified to contest for governorship, he/she must hold a degree.
With current governor Mike Sonko indicating that he may not defend his seat, Aladwa is said to be strategizing to get the ODM party backing to battle for the seat.
