Homa Governor Gladys Wanga has completed the process of recruiting chief officers and warned against corruption in her administration.
Wanga has appointed 15 chief officers who were sworn into office on Monday. They are former Homa Bay Deputy Speaker Ellyas Orondo (Investment), journalist Isaac Ongiri (Administration and Devolution), Judith Ombok (Gender), Diana Ongere (Mining), Kennedy Ojala (Stakeholder Management), Jack Obonyo (Blue Economy and Fisheries) and Hanningtone Day (Lands and Physical Planning).
Members of the Homa Bay County Investment and Development Corporation Board were also sworn into office.
Speaking during the occasion, Governor Wanga told the officials to avoid the mentality that working in a county government is an avenue for minting money.
The governor told the chief officers to focus on service delivery to accomplish the development agenda of the county.
She said her administration is committed to the implementation of development projects in the county.
"I expect the chief officers not to be people who sit in offices. They must visit communities in villages to ensure implementation of projects takes place successfully," Wanga said.
The county chief told the officers to focus on creating a conducive environment for investment in Homa Bay County.
"Our objective is to make Homa Bay a destination for investment, let us put efforts into attracting investors" Wanga added.
