Auma Obama has thanked all people who have sent in their messages of condolences following the demise of her grandmother, Mama Sarah Obama, today morning.

In a tweet posted in her official Twitter account, Auma wrote “To all of you sending messages, know that I am seeing them and am hearing you, you all. Just cannot reply to all. Thank you, thank you for your condolences! I feel your love and concern”

In her message celebrating the life of Mama Sarah, she tweeted “Just lost the most important person in my life – my gran, Mama Sarah. My heart is broken! But as I write, not able to stop the tears from pouring, I know I was blessed to have her for so long! My inspiration, my rock, my comfort, my safe space. Rest in Peace Dani”

Mama Sarah Obama passed on at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and will be laid to rest tomorrow (March 30), according to Sheikh Musa Ismail Haji the family spokesperson and the chairperson of Kisumu Muslim Association.

Sheikh Musa said that even though Mama Sarah was sick for some time her death is not as a result of Covid-19 complications.
