Businessman Kennedy Rapudo has promised to buy his fiancee, socialite Amber Ray, a Range Rover.
Making his vow during one of their car rides, Rapudo explained that he will buy Amber her own car after she spilt her drink in his expensive machine.
"Mama Afrikana is just placing her drink here and it's pouring inside my Range Rover, and when I tell her she gets upset. Do you know how Ranger Rovers are expensive?" he asked.
Responding to him, Amber revealed that she is currently working hard and saving up to buy her own Range Rover but Rapudo disapproved.
"Do not buy a Range Rover, I will buy you a Range Rover so relax, it's just a matter of time," promised Rapudo.
According to Amber, receiving a car gift is risky because whenever things go south in the relationship, more often than not it is taken back.
"As long as you won't take it away from me. You know I fear being gifted cars because they are eventually taken back. You refuse to cook him breakfast one morning and he takes back his car, I don't want that," she said.
Giving her assurance, Rapudo told Amber not to worry about the car being taken back as it will be registered under her name.
"If I buy you a car, I am going to write your name on the logbook, not mine. Forget about these men that buy you cars and put them in their names. If I buy you a car, it will be under your name, okay baby?" he assured.
Speaking of car repossession, during Amber's relationship with her ex, Chairman of the Association of Matatu operators, Jamal 'Rohosafi' Marlow, the mother of two was gifted a Ranger Rover to use for her errands, a gift that constantly brought friction between her and Jamal's first wife Amira.
However, immediately after calling their relationship quits, Jamal repossessed the car and Amber was forced to go back to driving her Jeep.
In a more recent incident, Jamal sent over yet another Range Rover to Amber after she announced that she had broken up with her baby daddy, a gift that didn't stay long.
As soon as she rekindled her love with Rapudo, the Range Rover was taken back.
"Ehe! Kiongozi aliskia nateseka kutumia jeep sai venye iko juu akanitumia gari. Enyewe never burn bridges. God always bless you for me, Chairman," she posted.
