Chair of the Council of Governors (CoG) Anne Waiguru has met an international advocate of gender equality, women's rights, and youth empowerment global advocate Salma Pinault.

Pinault is in the Country to Work on a Project that is aimed to reach 4 million girls through various empowerment programmes.

Waiguru said that the exercise by the non-government organisation, Girl Effect, headed by Jessica Odede is expected to be rolled out across 47 Counties.

She said the activity targets control over teenage pregnancies, HIV, and education among other gender-sensitive issues.

The Second term Kirinyaga Governor welcomed the initiative saying it will further her efforts in the campaign against gender-based Violence, and strengthen women empowerment programmes nationally.
