Friends, staff, and employees of former President Mwai Kibaki will remember him for the great life lessons he provided and how he changed their lives for the better.

In their condolence messages Friday, the men and women who served the late Kibaki had all but good things to say of the former Head of State.

His private secretary Ngari Gituku said he learnt countless life lessons from the former Head of State.

“I have lost a mentor of momentous repute and a worthy icon that I will forever remember,” Gituku said in a statement.

Kibaki’s staff mourned him as a leader and mentor.

“We, the members of staff at the Office of H.E. Mwai Kibaki are gravely saddened by his demise. May the Almighty God grant his family and friends the peace and comfort they deserve as they come to terms with this loss.”

Former Transport Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau mourned Kibaki, praising his intent on improving the country’s infrastructure.

“He will be remembered for his transformative agenda which set Kenya on a development trajectory. Part of his transformative agenda was captured in the Vision 2030 blueprint which continues to guide Kenya on the path to becoming a developed country,” Kamau stated.

“We have journeyed together through thick and thin and now in our deepest moments of grief, sorrow and sadness please rest assured that we shall keep you in our prayers,” the Nyamweya family and close relatives wrote.

Kibaki died on Friday, April 22, aged 90. He was Kenya’s third president, having served from 2003 to 2013.
