Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has instructed police officers on duty to confiscate licences of drivers found to be drunk and reckless.
National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) will take action on the culprits.
Courts have already suspended licenses of seven drivers accused of drunk driving.
NTSA has also withdrawn for 30 days operating permits of 11 Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) for working at night illegally.

NTSA will also be running a crackdown on public transport operators who have hiked fares during the festive season.
