Arsene Wenger may be tempted to farm versatile 21-year-old out to gain first-team experience — provided he can sign another centre-back this summer

The Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger has rebuffed their attempts in the past, but may be tempted to let him join another Premier League team to help him gain more regular first team games.

However, Wenger is only likely to sanction any move if he signs another centre-half this summer, and it is understood that versatile Chambers remains in Arsenal's long term plans.

Chambers, 21, joined the Londoners from Southampton for £16million two years ago.

He can play right-back, centre-half or holding midfielder and impressed for England U21s as they secured their first Tournoi Tournament title since 1994.

However, his first team chances at the Emirates have been limited and Arsenal realise he needs to play more.
