NAIROBI; KENYA: The State has ordered all public primary schools to be closed indefinitely.
This follows teachers defying successive orders by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to resume classes in compliance with the July 1 Industrial Court order.
The primary school teachers strike led by The Kenya National Teachers Union (KNUT) has lasted for over three weeks.
The Government has also assured the public and Class Eight pupils that measures have been put in place to ensure the KCPE candidates sit for exams.
