Onions are fantastic to cook with because they add delicious flavour and are very healthy. They are low in calories and high in antioxidants, which means they work to keep you healthy. Onions are good for weight loss because they promote the use of calories and the burning of energy from food.
For many people, extra weight is the result of a combination of factors. Stress is one of the factors that can make people to eat for comfort. Others are abundance of food, oversized portions, unhealthy snacks that are full of sugar, strange chemicals, and processed foods. Because the much food makes it hard for bodies to break down, they stored as fat instead. So, no matter how much one eats, it’s likely that something about the diet is not right.
Onions can add a healthy, low calorie, and tasty flavour and texture to meals. Rather than over-salting a dish or adding other ingredients that are unhealthy when over-used, one can sauté an onion and get great flavour without additional calories. Onions are also high in fibre, like most vegetables, and are fairly high in liquid, making them balanced and great for the bodies.
Fibre, especially naturally occurring ones like those in onions and other vegetables, helps to reduce appetite. You feel full for long when you eat vegetables. This makes it possible to avoid snacking. Additionally, calories in onions and other vegetables are easy for the body to absorb and use. If the body can use calories right away, it is when one consumes inions. Eating processed foods that are hard for the body to use are converted for later time. In other words, the body stores unhealthy food as fat.

There are many other health benefits of eating onions, but weight loss is the main one. Onions can help control the blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. They are also great at helping to balance the cholesterol levels by working to remove bad cholestrol, leaving good cholesterol. Overall, eating onions is much better than eating food that isn’t healthy. Just adding onions to every diet helps avoid the foods that cause weight gain.
