A solid round-presented youngster Victor Sila with the bragging rights during the eighth leg of the KCB Tour series at the hilly par-72 Nakuru Golf Club over the weekend.
Sila, playing off handicap 28, was the man of the tournament as he returned a score of 43 stableford points to beat a field of 240 golfers from various clubs who graced the tournament.
"I thank those who played badly because that gave me the chance to win," Sila said.
The course was in great shape, one of the few courses that were not affected by the ongoing heavy rains due to its hilly terrain.
Before the presentation ceremony, golfers and guests observed a minute of silence in honour of the late James Lorum Aret, the resident professional who passed away last Monday.
Man winner prize was won by a handicap 28, Joseph Mwangi, who inked a compact score of 40 stableford points.
Nakuru Golf Club Lady Captain Margaret Mutwasi was the fairest of the lady golfers to claim the Lady winner prize on a score of 39 stableford points, playing off handicap 29.
The Staff winner prize was won by Eliud Siganaga, who brought back a sterling score of 41 stableford points playing off handicap 26.
Another promising teen player, Gurtej Sahota, posted 36 stableford points off handicap 18 to bag the Junior prize.
Leading the visiting golfers to claim the Guest winner prize was Martin Mbugua, who inked a score of 40 stableford points while playing off handicap 24.
In the commercial, John Kamais blasted his tee shot the furthest to win the Longest Drive Men prize as Nancy Nyanchama won the Longest Drive Lady prize.
Patrick Mbagaya won the Nearest to Pin prize on the par-three 17th hole, but missed out on the hole-in-one prize, an apartment at Ikhaya Beula Genesis project.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Director of Treasury KCB Peter Njuguna, said; "We are living up to the promise we made last year, to make the KCB East Africa Golf Tour bigger and better."
"The 24-leg amateur tournament will feature 3,000 participants and 1,500 juniors from the golf clinics that ran concurrently with the series. This will go a long way in fostering golfing culture within the region," he added.
