An easy wedding checklist

There are certain details that need attention for your wedding to start, progress and end perfectly without stress. But what does a perfect wedding call for? An envisioned perfect wedding calls for proper planning and execution.

It is for this reason that you cannot do without a checklist to ensure all goes well as planned. To help you get through your ceremony without a fuss, below is a simple compilation of the details you need to check:

Should you be working with a wedding planner or committee members, have one person on the reception ground to coordinate vendors and ensure all goes well while the other is at the bride’s house.

Ensure the photographer arrives on time as agreed to take photos at the bride’s house as the bride and her party gets ready.

Ensure the bridal party cars have arrived on time at the designated location for decoration. At this point make sure all vehicles are sparkling clean and have received the intended finished look. Check the car’s wheel pressure, oil and fuel.

Make sure the assigned cars go to the specifed locations to pick people assigned to ferry to the venue, such as the bride’s parents, and take them to the ceremony location.

Back at the brides home, make sure the hairdresser and makeup artists have arrived on time and the bridal party is getting ready.

Co-ordinate the arrival of the bridal party cars, as the party gets ready. Once they are all ready, let them to leave for the ceremony. It is best if they arrive early.

Drive to the ceremony location and once on site check to ensure the following are in order:

The groom and groomsmen have arrived.

Wedding bands are in place.

Proper documentation is in order.

The person officiating the wedding is on site and ready to go.

The sound system is in working condition and that the backup generator is working.

The performing bands or musicians have arrived and have set up.

The proper and agreed dÈcor has been set up.

Guests are being ushered in with background music playing as per your requirements.

The groom and groomsmen enter followed by the person officiating the wedding.

Guests are seated.

The bride and her party get out of the car or waiting room.

Procession.

Marriage ceremony takes place and vows are exchanged.

Announcement.

Recessional.

The couple and party pose for a few photos with close family and relatives with the help of the MC’s co-ordination.

If included in the program, the couple and party head to the photo shoot location as guests head to the reception.

Couple arrives at the photo session venue. Hair and makeup touch ups are done as light snacks and drinks are served.

Photos are taken.

On completion of the photo session head back for the reception!
