Nigerian actress and model Annie Idibia has re-emerged on social media, marking her first public appearance since her turbulent split from legendary musician 2Baba.
The actress, now going by her maiden name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, exuded elegance in a monochromatic beige ensemble as she posed aboard a luxurious private jet.
She paired her chic outfit with a stylish brown jacket, a matching handbag, and beige sneakers, embodying a picture of resilience and grace.
After a long hiatus, Annie took to Instagram to express her gratitude to those who supported her through the emotional turmoil of her highly publicised breakup.
"To my family, friends, and everyone who came through for me, thank you for the outpouring of love. I appreciate every single one of you. May the universe favour you. Lots of love, Annie Uwana Macaulay," she wrote.
The actress's divorce from 2Baba in January 2025 took a toll on her, leading to a period of depression that necessitated professional help.
During this trying time, close friends and fellow celebrities, including media personality Toke Makinwa and Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage, stepped in to support her and care for her two daughters, Isabel and Olivia Idibia, whom she shares with the musician.
2Baba, whose real name is Innocent Idibia, had announced their separation in a now-deleted Instagram story, stating, "Hello my beautiful people. Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now and have filed for divorce. Not because it is anyone's right to know, but because I love my people and want them to understand my innocence or offense. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all."
However, what stunned fans even more was 2Baba's swift move to propose to Nigerian politician Natasha Osawaru just weeks after the announcement.
Natasha, a representative of Edo State in the House of Assembly under the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has since adopted the Idibia surname, solidifying her new chapter with the music icon.
Annie's powerful comeback post has ignited a wave of reactions from fans and celebrities worldwide. Jamaican dancehall star Spice cheered her on with a comment: "Fix your crown and let's goooooo, love you Queen."
Fans echoed similar sentiments, with one admirer writing, "This CHAPTER of you will be my favorite! I love you."
Another added, "Someone said, 'He is ordinary; it's your love that made him special,' and I couldn't agree more!"
