Tanzanian singer Goodluck Gozbert has ignited a firestorm of controversy after publicly burning a car gifted to him by a prophet in 2021.

The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, has sparked heated debates on social media.

Gozbert, known for his outspoken personality, claimed the gifted car was "possessed by demons" and posed a threat to his life.

He explained that "the vehicle presented to me in December 2021 by a prophet during a religious ceremony was not divinely sanctioned. I maintain that the service and the accompanying gifts were spiritually detrimental to me."

In the video, he can be seen pouring gasoline on the vehicle before setting it ablaze, while a crowd watches in disbelief.

Speaking in Swahili, Gozbert further says; "I acknowledge that this video may elicit a range of responses, including both support and criticism. I respect all viewpoints. Should God grant me the opportunity, I will provide further clarification. May God bless you all."

True to his words, his actions have drawn sharp criticism from the public with many condemning his actions as disrespectful and a waste of resources. Some questioned the authenticity of the prophet's gift.

While many cast stones on why he chose to go that direction, others posed the question as to why he never returned the vehicle, others encouraged him while emphasising that life is more spiritual than what meets the eye.

However, Gozbert has defended his actions, insisting that he acted on divine guidance. He claimed that the prophet who gifted him the car had ulterior motives and that the vehicle was a conduit for negative energy.
