An undated video has emerged showing angry passengers meting out punishment to a matatu driver for allegedly over speeding.
According to reports, the matatu registration KCL 740B belonging to Lina Sacco was headed to Nairobi when the incident occurred.
In the widely circulated video, a passenger is seen hurriedly alighting from the matatu, shrugging off the conductor before chasing after the driver who flees towards the back of the vehicle.
“Anataka kutuua?”(Does he want to kills us), the angered passenger is heard saying.
A woman is then seen pleading with the irate passengers to leave the driver alone.
“Achana na yeye,” the woman is seen pleading before the passengers turn the tables on her, questioning whether she’s the one who’s been confusing the driver.
“Ni brother yangu (he’s my brother)” the woman responds.
The conductor is later seen refunding the passengers’ fare.

I am so happy to watch this...Most of the time I always zusha alone in matatus and nobody backs me up. Sometimes I just decide to alight and let the rest who are comfortable continue with the journey. — Aaleyah Lacazette (@Amondilicious) April 7, 2019
