- Musikari Kombo now wants NASA leader Raila Odinga to retire from politics
- Kombo says that Raila now qualifies to enrol for Inua Jamii Programme
- Inua Jamii Programme is a social cash transfer assistance for the elderly
Former Webuye MP Musikari Kombo now wants NASA leader Raila Odinga to retire from politics and enrol for Inua Jamii Programme.
Inua Jamii Programme caters for the welfare of the aged. In the past, it focused on needy, aged people but Jubilee government now plans to have all people aged 70 and above enlisted.
Raila, who is now 72, according to Kombo qualifies for the programme.
“Raila should call it a day and join me and the likes of Fred Gumo to enlist for the programme. We will earn when we are just relaxing in our homes,” said Kombo.
“The government led by Uhuru Kenyatta has made it possible for the elderly to receive monthly monetary help and Raila should embrace this initiative and get monthly stipend and leave the young generation to carry on the mantle.”

He insisted that Raila should join his peers Noah Wekesa and Gumo who quit active politics.
“Raila is our agemate and we are advising him to be man enough and quit active politics.
Politicians of his age have retired from active politics and are giving advisory messages to the young generation to ensure there is continuity in Kenyan politics,” said the former Cabinet minister.
Kombo quit politics in 2013 after he lost the Bungoma senatorial seat to Moses Wetang’ula in a by-election.
“I can confidently tell you that Raila will be on the ballot as long as he is alive and there is no way he will endorse either Mudavadi or Wetang’ula for presidency.
The two have been tricked and have misled our community which is unacceptable,” he said.
Kombo said it is easier for a person from the Mulembe nation to land to presidency after Deputy President William Ruto finishes his two terms in 2032.
“Eugene Wamalwa is close to the Deputy President and it is possible to be made the running mate.
After he (Ruto) finishes his two terms, he can leave the presidency to one of us which is the easiest way for anybody from the community to ascend to power,” said Kombo.
