Khaligraph Jones

Forget the phrase "Khaligraph wa Kayole", the celebrated rapper who has had a humble journey to glory disclosed that he comes from Bondo.

With his 'Queens accent', the hip hop artiste whom we all know to have been raised in Kayole, Nairobi, has revealed that he grew up in Bondo before moving to Nairobi.

"I am a Luo from Bondo. I am proud to be a Luo and also proud that I have such a huge following.

I thank my fans for making me who I am," he told the huge crowd that attended the Luo Night cultural festival at Carnivore grounds on Saturday.

"In recent months, stories on my skin colour change have been doing rounds and I know some of you expect to see a lighter me. And with that, DJ Joe, play for me Toa Tint," he said, to rousing applause.

The rapper, whose real name is Brian Robert Ouko, made a name for himself through hip hop freestyle battles before his great breakthrough in 2013 when he released his diss track F**k off.
