A lion has caused panic among villagers who were spotted running for their lives as it wandered around after killing a cow .
It is believed she strayed into the village during night fall, but didn't escape back to the forest when the sun came up and continued to sit next to her kill.
The lioness was spotted in Virpur, which is adjacent to Gir forest that is home to Asiatic lions, and shocked residents gathered to take a closer look.
The lion seemed happy to sit with her cow before one villager decided to try and scare it off by driving a car towards her.
The animal managed to move out of the way, and started wandering the streets, sending villager screaming.

After about an hour, the lioness was guided back to the reserve forest area by rangers.
