Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao: Tickets to Las Vegas showdown sell out within ONE minute

Around 1,000 tickets were made available to fight fans, but they were snapped up inside 60 seconds on Thursday night

Tickets for Floyd Mayweather's showdown with Manny Pacquiao sold out in less than a minute on Thursday night.

The pair face off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2, with interest in the mouthwatering bout sky high.

A dispute between the fighters' promoters and the venue over ticketing allocation meant they weren't put on sale until the impasse was resolved.

However, a batch of tickets were eventually made available to fight fans, but they were snapped up within 60 seconds of going on sale just after 8pm UK time.

Tickets for the mega-fight were being sold through mgmgrand.com and ticketmaster.com, with prices ranging from £1,000 to £5,000 per seat.

However, the demand was so high that the mgmgrand.com website couldn't cope with the high volume of traffic and crashed moments before the launch.

The MGM Grand holds 16,800 seats, but less than 1,000 were put on sale to the public, with the rest to be dished out between the casino, promoters and sponsors.

If you are tempted to head to Vegas for the fight, tickets are available from Ticket Network and Viagogo, check hotel availability with Trip Advisor and compare flight prices with Expedia.
