I went to the University of Nairobi where I studied for a bachelors degree in law.

My most favourite subject was The Law of Equity, which taught us that to be treated fairly, you must learn to treat others fairly as well. I also loved Criminal Law, which was taught by one Oketch Owiti. He was my favourite lecturer. In fact, I was so enthused by this particular subject that I ended up being a criminal lawyer.

My classmates included the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Isaack Hassan, Law Society of Kenya Chairman Eric Mutua, and former cabinet minister Eugene Wamalwa.

I loved campus politics and even got involved in Sonu campaigns, but I never vied for any position.

Apart from books and politics, I ventured into active dancing. On weekends, we would go out for a dance at Club Boomerang or Dreams in the city.

I never hustled much given we had ‘boom’ money, besides the free food and accommodation we received in campus. That ended when I reached third year.

On matter relationship, I had been warned against campus men, so being a village girl, I was very timid about such matters (laughs). But I had many good male and female friends, that is all I can say.

The most memorable moment in my campus days was when students went on strike after lights went off abruptly on campus.

The experience of going to the streets, watching students pelt innocent people with stones was very scary.
