Music superstar Oliver Mtukudzi is now Dr Tuku, and that is the title everyone should know him by from now on.
Oliver was capped by the Great Zimbabwe University Chancellor, President Robert Mugabe during the graduation ceremony. Just like Mugabe’s wife who graduated with a PhD after two months, Dr Tuku did not study for the degree.
However, he earned it as an honour for being an inspiration to young artistes by using his music as commentary on various social, cultural, and economic issues. His music career spans nearly four decades.
