Daniel Ndamuki aka Churchill never ceases to amuse. During the Standard Group’s Transform Kenya Awards, that took place on Saturday, Churchill was the winner of the Arts and Culture Award for his contribution to the Kenyan comedy scene.
The award was presented to him by Mandela’s own grandson, Ndaba Mandela.
In a powerful speech, the father of comedy thanked God for bringing him this far. He also appreciated the veteran comedians who set the stage for comedy in Kenya. He applauded upcoming comedians who are going to keep the Kenyan comedy flag flying high.
The highlight of his speech was his Chinese proverb! Churchill went ahead to speak in a Chinese-like language that had the audience in stitches. Translated to: Champions are made when no one is watching.
