Police in Machakos are probing the mysterious death of a senior police officer who was found dead in his house in Kalama, Machakos County Saturday midmorning.
The body of chief inspector Stephen Kitonga Karimi was found lying lifeless in his house in Kalama by a neighbor who alerted authorities.
Karimi, 48, was the commander, Critical Infrastructure Police Unit in Kalama Sub County. Police have not provided any preliminary report relating to the possible cause of his death.
Machakos County Commissioner, Fred Ndunga who confirmed the incident Saturday afternoon said police will rely on the postmortem report for any clues that may inform the course of investigation.
The officer’s body was moved to Montenzuma funeral home in Machakos town.
