A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly defiling three girls who are his paternal cousins in Homa Bay County.

In the shocking incident, the man defiled a 12-year-old girl and her twin sisters aged nine.

The man went into hiding after allegedly committing the offence on Saturday at a village in South West Kwabai Location in Ndhiwa Sub-county.

He reportedly man took advantage of his relationship with the girls to abuse them. The suspect went to their homestead and found them alone before he lured them and committed the heinous act.

The girls later informed their parents about the incident.  

The parents liaised with police to aid the arrest of the perpetrator after he went into hiding.

Later, the suspect surrendered to police at Ndhiwa Police Station on Monday.

Ndhiwa Sub-county Police Commander John Losia said they detained the man before they took him to Ndhiwa Sub-county Hospital for a medical test.

Losia said they were waiting for medical examination reports before the man can be arraigned in court.

“We are going to charge him in court after the medical reports support the accusation. He is currently in our custody,” Losia said.

He urged parents to take care of their children.

The police boss also told parents to avoid out-of-court settlement for defilement cases.

“Let parents be vigilant in taking care of their female children since they are delicate. I urge all parents and guardians to avoid out-of -court settlement on defilement cases,” Losia added.
