New York: Anthony Criscuolo faces 14 years in jail for the horrific assault on the girl in a school car park
A former teacher is facing 14 years in prison after he admitted raping one of his 10-year-old pupils.
Prosecutors said Anthony Criscuolo, 41, was a fifth grade teacher at a public school in New York when he tricked his victim's family into believing he was taking her to a school awards ceremony.
Instead he attacked her in a school car park, the New York Daily News reports.
He had previously bought her gifts including an iPod touch, and sent her suggestive e-mails.

Bronx district attorney Robert Johnson said Criscuolo had agreed to a plea bargain on Friday, rather than bring the case to trial so as to "not further traumatize this young victim".
The terms of the deal mean he will lose his teaching license, and register as a sex offender.
He could be jailed for 14 years when he is sentenced next month.
