May 12, every year, Nurses celebrates the founder of modern nursing "A Lady with a Lamp" called Florence Nightingale. This year marks 200 years of her birthday.
Nurses
celebrate this wonderful and memorable day amidst a scaring COVID-19 pandemic,
which is comparable to the Crimean war, which Florence Nightingale tirelessly
volunteered to dress the wounded soldiers.
She
emphasized the need for environmental hygiene in her famous Environmental
theory. This element is now being utilized in handling COVID-19 patients and
also reducing the risk of transmission.
This year
nurses are being recognized as front line workers as they spend sleepless
nights coupled with anxiety to fight this pandemic.
