A newborn allegedly bought by woman for Sh50,000 in Nairobi has died at Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.
The suspect, who had reportedly confessed that she bought the baby in a city slum, now has a different story.
The woman, from Kayole Estate in Naivasha who is in police custody, claims she collected the minor along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The woman was arrested at the hospital where she had gone to seek medical attention for the infant at the weekend.
Naivasha deputy OCPD John Kwasa said the baby had developed breathing complications by the time he was admitted to the hospital.
