Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has postponed Saturday’s repeat poll in 27 constituencies in Nyanza County to a later date.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati announced that Fafi and Turkana Central Constituencies are however set to go on with the scheduled elections.
The affected areas include; Alego, Usonga, Awendo, Bondo, Gem, Ugenya, Homa Bay town, Kabondo, Kasipul, Karachuonyo, Kasipul, Kisumu,Central, Kisumu East,Kisumu West,Muhoroni, Ndhiwa, Nyakach,Nyando, Nyatike, Rangwe Rarieda, Seme, Suba North,Suba South, Ugunja, Uriri, Rongo, Suna East and Suna West.
In Turkana Central, five polling stations will be open to conduct the election since the poll was affected by adverse weather conditions on October 26.
The 27 constituencies have a total number of 3,635 polling stations with 1,770,475 voters, which translates to 9% of the total registered voters.
