Gor Mahia top striker Jacques Tuyisenge has extended his stay at the club by penning a two-year deal.
The latest word about the Kenyan Premier League top scorer was confirmed by the club’s chairman Ambrose Rachier, who said they were keen to retain their top players for future assignments.
“We have renewed Tuyisenge’s contract by offering him a two-year deal. Ernest Wendo too got another three years at Gor Mahia. These are some of our top players and we need them for future assignments,” Rachier told The Standard Sports.
The chairman said most of the senior players were running out of contract and they would work round the clock to renew all contracts as the club aims to do well in next year’s continental competition as well as domestic competitions.
“We have a number of senior players whose contracts are running out by end of the season and we have good plans in place to work around all that. We will be meeting other players today to discuss.

“Our target is to get done with all the contract issues as soon as possible and that will be before end of the season,” he added.
After winning the 16th title over the weekend, the club is keen on getting some new faces to bolster the squad ahead of the crowded season.
“We will get a few new faces in the team and that process is on as well. We have a busy season next year and we need a squad with depth to avoid burn out of players. We want to do well in all competitions and early preparation will do us fine.”
Tuyisenge’s new deal has erased any doubt about his future.
It was reported that APR of Rwanda were interested in him and had secretly sent an official to Nairobi to negotiate with the striker and sign a pre-contract. [Tony Owori]
