A Nyeri gubernatorial aspirant who was disqualified by Jubilee Party from contesting over academic qualifications, is now demanding a refund of the nomination fee.
Thuo Mathenge, who was last week given a technical knockout by Jubilee, says he had already paid the requisite Sh500,000 fee to allow him participate in nominations.
On Monday, Mr Mathenge said he had instructed his lawyer to write to the Jubilee headquarters seeking a refund.
He said it was wrong for the party to have demanded nomination fees before first perusing his academic qualifications.
The party's National Elections Board rejected his candidature on grounds that his Ugandan university degree was suspect.
