The government should employ more teachers to reduce the burden of employing teachers by parents of various schools in the country, a governor has insisted.
Bomet governor Isaac Ruto while speaking at a church function in Bomet town on Sunday said it was illogical for the national government to continue training teachers yet it was not employing them.
"The employment of teachers through Parent Teachers Association was a huge financial burden to the parents who are also paying school fees for the children. The national government should employ all trained teachers to reduce the deficit of teachers in our schools and improve education quality." He said.
The governor had graced Imani fellowship Bomet town AGC church where its choir had a special offering function in aid of updating its instruments department.
