Domestic violence is getting out of hand. Hardly does a day pass without news of someone battering their partner. Deaths have been reported and in most cases, the victims are women.
This cannot be allowed to continue. The Government should come up with tougher laws to punish perpetrators as domestic violence is retrogressive and violates the rights of victims.
The society needs information on the possible causes of domestic violence and how couples can resolve them. Such lessons should be taught in schools so that correct values are inculcated in students at a young age.
