In pursuit of Luhya unity, Musalia Mudavadi says he will abandon his own bid for the presidency and support Moses Wetang’ula if he clinches the CORD ticket for the top office.

Such reasoning, coming from someone who once tasted the ODM greed for power when he dared to challenge Baba, could not have come at a better time.

But ODM stalwarts have been heard saying the party has its owners and Mudavadi knows as much.

Even though we have been told that CORD will hold its nominations to determine who among the three co-principals will face President Uhuru Kenyatta next year, I can bet the sun to rise from the West if Wetang’ula emerges winner.

So, the best option for Mudavadi would be to join forces with other Luhya leaders and decide on one candidate so that the Mulembe Nation can vote as a bloc.
