The county government is set to clamp down on public and private institutions this week to recover Sh158 billion owed in rates.

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Treasury, law courts, Attorney Generals chambers, ICT Board, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and KICC are among the institutions targeted.

Addressing members of the county assembly in Nairobi, Governor Evans Kidero called on the members to help him collect the revenues, saying Government and private institutions are leading defaulters.
