Chances of KCB getting relegated from the Kenya Premier League increased yesterday after they lost 2-0 to Ulinzi Stars City Stadium.
Goals by Enos Ochieng and Eric Apul could have killed off any dreams the bankers had of playing in top flight football next season.
Although the bankers got off the blocks quicker with Chris Onyango setting up Paul Kiongera in the second minute, the KCB marksman was way off the mark in his execution.
Then at the quarter hour mark, Bernard Chaka laid up a neat pass for Elly Asieche, but the former Sofapaka ace could not make it count as his effort went wide.
The bankers paid the price for wasting their chances at the half hour mark. The first move towards goal by the soldiers counted after Enos Ochieng put the ball beyond Sammy Okinda in the KCB goal.

The move started from Daniel Waweru, who set up Evans Amuoka who then picked out Ochieng whose tap was too much for Okinda.
Inspired by the goal, Ulinzi Stars coach Robert Matano rested Amuoka for Oscar Wamalwa as he sought to add more goals and it happened in the 41st minute when Apul doubled the lead.
Three minutes later, Wamalwa’s goal was ruled off-side as the soldiers stayed firmly in the driving seat going into the break.
Nairobi City Stars registered a crucial 1-0 win over Ushuru at Ruaraka and went ahead of KCB on the log as the battle against relegation intensified.
City Stars got their lone goal through Jimmy Bagaye who netted in the 60th minute to give his side three crucial points that increased their tally to 27.
In Kisumu, Struggling AFC Leopards slowed down Muhoroni Youth’s ambitions of a top-three finish after holding them to a 1-1 tie at Moi Stadium.
Bernard Mangoli scored for Leopards before Wellingtone Ochieng equalised for the hosts.
In Mombasa, Bandari moved closer to making history since the formation of the team in 1985 after they beat Western Stima 3-1.
The best finish ever for Bandari in the top flight league was fifth position and yesterday’s win has propelled the dockers to third position.
The dockers will play Nakuru All Stars in Nakuru in their last league match. Bandari started the match in a winning spirit dominating the proceedings with Western Stima on the receiving end.
Ugandan import George Abege blasted home the first goal in the 43rd minute after he pounced on Anthony Kimani’s ball to beat custodian Gabriel Andika.
