Claims by Baringo County Assembly Speaker William Kamket that Deputy President William Ruto has lost voters in Rift Valley are misleading.
It was particularly wrong for Mr Kamket to issue false statements about the political situation in the Rift Valley for his selfish gains.
Majority of voters in the region are firmly behind the leadership of Ruto and they will join the newly established Jubilee Alliance Party as a bloc. For Kamket to purport that he was speaking on behalf of the region’s leaders, was in bad faith.
It is obvious that some individuals from outside the community are using some Rift Valley leaders to undermine the Deputy President’s leadership.
The Kalenjin community should know that some few individuals from outside Rift Valley are using our leaders to divide the community for their own selfish gains. The community will lose the top seat come 2022 if it allows division to reign.
