Unemployment has been a major issue in this country for decades. Many graduates are languishing in the hope of getting employed.

Most of them are eyeing white collar jobs and dreaming of large figure salaries. In Kenya, the number of unemployed people is increasing in line with the number of students graduating each year. Most graduates have been hit by frustrations and hopelessness due to crushed expectations.

As a result, some have opted to engage in criminal activities to survive. But most graduates do not understand that self-employment is just another way they can earn huge amounts of money as they desire.

There are various things one can do to become self-employed. Engaging in agricultural activities like farming and rearing of animals is a route many have followed and have not been disappointed.

Agriculture helps in earning good amounts of money through selling of farm produce. Graduates can also become entrepreneurs by coming up with business ideas, which when implemented can help grow the economy.

Instead of one sitting back with their business degree, they can use the knowledge acquired in school to start up a business.
