MACHAKOS, KENYA: More than fifty clinical officers from Machakos county matched up to the governor's offices in protest of their non salaries payment for now two months.

 The officers mostly from Machakos level five and Kangundo level four hospitals said their lives had become difficult for going without any up-keep assistance for the two months.

The clinical officers who are currently interns said there was an agreement that they be given some allowances to sustain them while carrying out the heavy task.

''To our surprise no body has ever shown any concern over our predicaments yet we are told to continue providing services''; they said.

On arrival at the governor's offices about three kilometres away, the peaceful officers had a dialogue meeting with the governor's representatives where they agreed to resume to work.

They however, said that their earlier similar meetings with other relevant authorities had failed to yield any fruitful conclusion.

However, contacted the county executive on the health docket, Naomi Mutie, said it was not the mandate of the county government to pay the interns but that of the national government.

She said time and again the interns had raised such greivancies but were advised to seek assistance from the national government whose responsibility lies in.

The interns however, expressed disappointment for continuing offering services without any up-keep from the government.
