Obama’s aunt burial set for Thursday

Kisumu, Kenya: Mama Sarah Obama has announced the date of her daughter’s burial. Zeituni Onyango who died in the US will be laid to rest at Kisumu County’s Muslim Cemetery on April 24.

The late Zeituni’s body will arrive early morning on Thursday at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, will be flown to Kisumu and then taken to the mosque for prayers.

Mama Sarah who spoke to The Standard said they are set for the burial of her daughter who died in the US two weeks ago. “We are now sure that the body will arrive in Kenya on Thursday. The burial will be done the same day,” she said.

Since Zeituni’s passing, relatives and friends have continued to flock to Mama Sarah’s home to condole with the family and pay tribute.
