“She will kill you next time you quarrel and you will have no one to turn to since she has proven to be a dangerous person.” This was a court precaution to a man who had sought to withdraw an assault case against his wife.

Rodgers Ndeda Mutango had appeared at the Kibera Court where his wife Naomi Waruguru, 21, had been accused that on March 17 at Waruku area in Dagoretti, she had unlawfully assaulted him occasioning bodily harm.

The complainant and his wife had an argument over money, which led to a fight where Naomi picked a kitchen knife and stabbed Ndeda in the hand. Ndeda was rushed to Sunbeam Hospital in Kangemi and was admitted for a day.

The court heard that Ndeda’s decision to forgive his wife had been influenced by the couple’s young children. He withdrew the matter, claiming that the children needed the care of their mother.  Waruguru said they had resolved the matter outside the court.

Senior Principal Magistrate Jacinta Kwena allowed the case to be withdrawn but with a warning that the lady is dangerous and if Ndeda is beaten again, he should not take the matter before her.
